In line with the Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and quality up-gradation of technical institutions, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore recommends that every accredited institution establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a quality sustenance measure.

At Government Polytechnic Rajpur Sadhaura, IQAC plays a crucial role in developing a structured system for quality assurance and enhancement. Quality enhancement being a continuous process, the IQAC functions as an integral part of the institution’s mechanism and works diligently to realize the goals of academic and administrative excellence.

The core objective of IQAC is to drive conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvements across all aspects of the institution’s functioning. Post-accreditation, it channels efforts toward implementing recommendations of peer review committees and promotes a culture of holistic academic development.

Rather than acting as a formal hierarchy or a record-keeping body, the IQAC at Government Polytechnic Rajpur Sadhaura functions as a voluntary, participatory, and facilitative unit that seeks to bring about institutional quality through planned interventions, similar to the “Quality Circles” concept widely used in the industrial sector.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the IQAC are:

• To establish a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action aimed at enhancing the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
• To promote institutional practices that ensure quality improvement through internalization of a quality-driven culture and adoption of best practices.

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for:

• Ensuring timely, efficient, and effective performance of academic, administrative, and financial operations.
• Introducing and maintaining relevant, high-quality academic and skill-based programs.
• Ensuring equitable access to education and affordability for students from all sections of society.
• Integrating modern teaching-learning methodologies, including digital and practical tools.
• Enhancing the credibility of evaluation and assessment processes.
• Ensuring sufficient infrastructure and proper allocation of support services.
• Promoting research, innovation, and collaboration with institutions and industries at the national and international levels.

Functions

The functions expected from the IQAC include:

• Formulating and applying quality benchmarks for academic and administrative activities.
• Promoting a learner-centric environment and supporting faculty to adopt innovative teaching and learning practices.
• Gathering and analyzing feedback from students, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders regarding institutional processes.
• Disseminating information on quality parameters to all institutional members.
• Organizing intra- and inter-institutional workshops, seminars, and quality-related events.
• Documenting initiatives and activities contributing to quality enhancement.
• Acting as a nodal agency to coordinate and monitor quality assurance efforts and best practices.
• Maintaining an institutional database using a Management Information System (MIS) to support quality assurance.
• Conducting regular Academic and Administrative Audits and ensuring follow-up actions.
• Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC, as per prescribed standards and parameters.
